Hello all my Pickleball Joy Riders!
Welcome to the Monday Minute, a 60-second list of what I’m exploring and thinking about. Feel free to forward along if the pickleball spirit moves you!
In my bag…#1 out of 125 paddles tested for PUNCH Volley Speed

I’ve been winning and playing with THE SMOKE by THRIVE. In a sea of amazing paddles, how does one stand out? Well, the Smoke is made of FIVE face layers (carbon fiber AND fiber glass) for extra POP where most paddle are only 2-3 layers. The secret was figuring out how to do this without adding weight! And the honeycomb cells in most paddles are 5mm thick, but the THRIVE is 10mm (Macro-charged core technology)—so the whole face feels like one big sweet spot.
Players compare this paddle to the pop of the PaddleTek TKO-C, but the Thrive Smoke is thermoformed whereas the the PaddleTek is not. All THRIVE paddles are hand weighed if you can believe that! So you get to select your swing weight when you check-out. Use code JILLYB and I promise you won't be disappointed.
Swing Weight - 119-121 (your choice)
Static Weight- 7.9-8.05 oz
Twist Weight- 6.15-6.30
Shape - Elongated
Total Length - 16.5 Inches
Width - 7.5 Inches
Grip Circumference - 4.25 Inches
Grip Length - 5.6 Inches
Core Thickness - 14.5mm
In my practice... How to play injured
I left APP Sacramento with a silver in women's doubles and 4th place in Mixed with my partners Megan Fudge & Mark Dancuart. But four days before the APP Sacramento I couldn’t walk up and down stairs without pain—I had done something awful to my knee after a hard training session. I saw Dr. Cynthia at her Pickleball Reset Studio at Power Play in Carson, CA and we went through a two-day recovery routine of scrape, tape, red-light, PEMF, oxygen, sauna and ice.
When I got home, compression, more red light, and ice. The human body is an amazing thing capable of recovery and healing if given the right protocols. Huge thank you to Dr. Cynthia & I'll get an MRI today March 17 to learn more! So far, my doctor has said I don't have a torn ligament but we're going to do the MRI for peace of mind and to determine next steps.
In my diet…the best protein powder I’ve found
I have FINALLY found a complete protein powder supplement that is NOT whey-based and after three weeks of daily protein smoothies I am in love with how good I feel on this ultra clean, third party tested protein powder that includes colostrum and organs. No artificial additives or preservatives, I am loving Lineage protein. You can use code JILLYB for a discount!

On my body: LEOREVER Compression Tights

Sold-out Ladies Camp did NOT disappoint!
We had a BLAST last week in Newport Beach for our first ever Ladies Only camp. Thank you to Reign Storm for sponsoring the camp--everyone left with some Reign Storm and THRIVE goodies!
There were two themes of the camp:

1.) RETURN TO SENDER: the notion that after we hit a shot we really need to focus on bringing the paddle back to neutral and not "leaving it" at our hip, or our neck or behind us. Think RECOIL & RE-LOAD.
2.) STILLNESS: focusing on the notion that if we can find stillness on every shot we hit and in any position on the court, we can increase consistency and get balls back we never dreamed of getting back.
Get STILL to win more.
